Our History

The Mount Gilead Seventh-day Adventist Church (MG) is a church without walls. We love God deeply and people unconditionally. Serving the community is our passion and sharing the uncompromising truths of Scripture is our calling. We seek to reach up to God in personal relationship for transformation, inspiration and direction, in order to meet the needs of our internal and external audiences, and we value reaching out in collaboration to possible ministry partners.

Mount Gilead is part of a worldwide sisterhood of Bible-believing Protestant Christians and members of the Ontario Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. More specifically, the Mount Gilead Church history began unofficially on October 7, 2017, when the Latter Rain and It Is Written churches were merged to form a stronger ministry and mission entity. They were officially organized by the Ontario Conference on February 24, 2018.

The Latter Rain church began December 1994 with a group of 45 members, led by Bro. John Fray and later was officially organized on June 15, 1996 with a membership of 65. The pastors who have served Latter Rain before its merger are Manley Coleman, Samuel McKenzie, Dr. Dennis Marshall, Dr. Orville Browne, Dr. Kenneth Campbell and Dr. Wayne Martin who was the pastor that oversaw the merger. Head Elders who supported the pastors in leadership were John Fray, Bentley Ford, Yvonne Edwards and Joseph Sinnadurai.

It Is Written Fellowship was organized in 1998 after a Bible seminar held by Leo Schriven, where 78 new members were baptized. Pastor Sil Lindo was the first pastor, followed by pastors Carlton Roulston and Dr. Wayne Martin under whose leadership Mount Gilead was formed. Currently, the membership of Mount Gilead is 229 and the pastor is Pastor Sil Lindo.
