The objective of family ministries is to strengthen marriage and the family. The family was established by divine creation with marriage at its center. Family is the most basic and important unit of society. Indeed “the family tie is the closest, the most tender and sacred, of any on earth”(Adventist Home, p.18, Ellen G. White). Still throughout history Satan has attacked families—through polygamy, adultery, sibling rivalry, homosexuality, pornography, and other alternative sexual lifestyles. As families fracture, so do the individuals involved. Furthermore, God uses family relationships as symbols of His relationship with us. Therefore, the family – nuclear, single parent, blended, or individuals in its post Edenic forms require attention through enrichment and education.
We encourage families to become evangelistic units that reach out to other families in need. Consequently, Mount Gilead Family Ministries, according to its capabilities will seek to care for families we are aware of need our support.
